A drift kart is not a slow race kart

Racing karts are built to keep grip. A drift kart is built to give it up on purpose and take it back whenever the driver asks — which is a different problem, and it changes what you weld, what you map and where you put the weight.

Steering that arrives early. The front end turns in before the rear lets go, so the slide starts where the driver aimed it rather than where the throttle left it.

Torque without a step. Three mapped levels instead of one switch: the difference between a kart that spins and a kart that sits on the throttle through a corner.

Built to be looped. Polyethylene nose, 4-point harness, forged hubs and an axle that takes studs. Rental fleets get crashed; the D1 was specified by people who count the repairs.
